Excerpt from The White Heather, 1943 This has been an unusual year at Flora Macdonald. We have been affected in so many ways by the changing world order. Each student has, however, been vitally interested in making her work here of some immediate asset for Victory. We sponsored the selling of war stamps and bonds. We took part in the launching of at liberty freighter, which was christened by the president of the student body, the S. S. Flora Macdonald. We boarded a big truck one day and went out to nearby farms to help the farmers pick their cotton. We went to camps to entertain the service men with pro grams of sacred music. There has been little complaining about these. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
