For many years the author, Bill Sharpe, wrote a monthly column for the Nittany Valley Bird Dog Club Newsletter. These columns have been edited slightly from their original form and are presented here. They cover a range of topics from observations on the Pennsylvania Game Commission's pheasant restoration efforts in the 1990s to the development of a line of English Setters and life on a small farm in central Pennsylvania. Where possible, he injects a little humor into the accounts presented and, as always, everything is colored by his career in natural resources research and education.
