In comparison to The Roaring Twenties, I always wondered how I'd face the following century. Everyone anticipated the glowing future of the 2020s. To face the decade as a queer person was to face the burn of a scalding sun. With every passing year the longing to be seen by reality and touched by humanity wounded us all.
