A Brief Moment of Time

What is a moment of time? How long is that moment? How do we define a moment? Is it different from how we define a second? Is that moment important to you? How did you spend that moment? Now imagine that you and our 8,200,000,000+ neighbours all shared that same moment. As did every organism that we define as life on this planet, whether it be a blade of grass, or a whale swimming in the ocean and every form of life in between and beyond. What is the cumulative effect on the configuration of Earth, by all those forms of life, on the cycles that drive how the planet is, especially Homo sapiens? Quite clearly the effect on Earth by humans, is far from negligible and we are rapidly turning the relative stability of the climate, that our species has become accustomed to, into something else. Something completely different and potentially species ending. We are the last of perhaps ten Homo species, so it would be arrogant of us not to think, that we might also go extinct through our not understanding how the planet works and our joint loading on its systems. At some point in our history, around the start of this interglacial, the Holocene, we made the jump to agriculture with a mindset change. It would seem that we need a mindset change, as great or greater, to get us out of our current perilous situation.
