The short-story, is one of the most important literary subgenres in Urdu literature, despite its relative youth. This was influenced by western and literary concepts and tendencies, as well as the contemporary industrial and mechanized environment. Devendra Satyarthi is one of the few creators who, in addition to his fiction writing, has been famous for collecting folk songs in various cities of the subcontinent by assuming the form of a monk. It is said that the basis of his stories is based on folk songs and mythological stories.
