This book portrays the lives of twenty-four women who surrounded one of the most powerful warlords of Japan’s Sengoku period, Takeda Shingen. Moving beyond the glare of power and battlefield glory, it traces a mother’s devotion, a wife’s dignity, and the quiet strength of women who endured history’s turbulence.

Though many of them left little trace in official chronicles, their lives continue to speak across the centuries.

Lady Ōi, who endured loneliness while safeguarding her household.
