There she was, standing in front of my apartment like she owned the joint. Lips painted blood red, and legs that went all the way down. She held a manila envelope, said she had a job for me, but she didn't want to come down to the office-the job being of a "sensitive nature"-and could we maybe discuss the matter in private, over a drink or two? I just stood there, staring at her like a drunken barfly, with the November chill bearing down on the city, and the hallway outside my third floor walk-up beginning to radiate some serious heat. But not the good kind, like a belt of bourbon on a cold night. A particular kind of heat that comes with a particular kind of job, working for a particular kind of client. A deadly heat that's usually served on your very own bullet-with your name engraved on it. Deadly Heat is a roleplaying game of film noir intrigue, action and romance.
