Ten million people call Haiti home and of these ten million, I am privileged to know a few dozen. By reading the words on these pages you'll encounter stories that are overflowing with beauty, generosity, and strength that comes from tasting devastation in the most intimate way. I've learned so many lessons on what responsibility is as a woman, as a person, as a consumer. I want to share them with you so we can work together to change the policies that hurt people all around the world. The sooner we believe each one of us can make positive changes, the sooner we will see less injustice in the world. In this book I will share some of my journey, hoping through my experiences, a movement of justice and equality can be formalized. I also hope that by the time this book is published the headline stories of Haiti will include fashion, business, and entrepreneurship.My quest began in a small neighborhood in Haiti with a generous outpouring of charity dollars, but my vision was to watch it grow into a thriving business, owned and operated by the people who dreamed of its inception. My Deux Mains business partners are the trend setters who have put their lives back together, brick by brick. They have rebuilt their homes and communities and created a thriving economic environment based on good business.
