Edgar Allan Poe Award winning writer Jim Kouf and co-writer Ross La Manna created this clever Martial-arts meets stand-up, knock-down comedy. La Manna's story follows a Hong Kong inspector who is paired with a rogue LAPD officer. The two mismatched partners set out to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Chinese diplomat. The film was the winner of various awards from Blockbuster, MTV, People's Choice, ALMA, and others. It also served as a cross-over vehicle for Jackie Chan's inimitable slapstick acrobatics.
