In 1966, Virginia Merle Moorman Zukowsky Dungan wrote the phrase, "Here I am headlong in the middle of a wonderful life." Born in 1920, she was in the middle of her life and had just started an exciting new chapter. In retrospect, she started new chapters frequently--some normal, some challenging, some adventurous--but always filled with a zest for life. She had a seventy-seven-year journey, a life well lived. Virginia died on December 15, 1997. In her belongings were letters, pictures, and papers she considered important to save. She also had several notebooks and journals, in which she had written about trips she took and reflections she wanted to share with her family and friends. She considered writing her autobiography and created two different outlines. This book offers a look at Virginia's life through her words, letters written to her, and photos. It is with great respect for Virginia, her family, and her friends that this book was compiled and edited by her daughters. The correspondence and writings reveal Virginia's personal thoughts and her candid expressions about her emotions, dreams, joys, frustrations, and challenges. Her words reveal the great enduring love that she had for her friends and her family."What I really want to leave you--is the love you already have for each other--you have brought me much joy--and I am so very proud of my family--
