Starting her religious life as a principle of a Catholic high school in India, Mother Teresa soon came to believe that her work was to serve the poorest of the poor. She started the Order of the Missionaries of Charity. In her lifetime, she founded over 200 'Nirmal Hriday', childrens' homes, and homes for lepers.
