This book has been reprinted as a dedication to the life of rock and blues legend Joe Cocker. It was originally written with Joe's former sponsor and manager Terry Thornton and tells of the early problematic days of Joe - then performing as Vance Arnold and the Avengers. He was struggling to establish himself in a rough, tough, working class Sheffield at the introduction of the 60s music scene. It is a hard hitting, honest and informative story about Joe Cocker's self doubts and repetitive problems with the demon drink, which caused his manager many a sleepless night. The hard lessons learnt eventually helped mould Joe into a popular and highly respected superstar.
