Many modern games started as rituals. In the salons of Paris, France during the sixteen and seventeen hundreds these rituals were used to commune with the spirit world. Several hundred years earlier Alchemists and Wizards used these same rituals to summon demons. But a game is just a game. Or is it? For those who study such things there is a warning, a child's rhyme from Mother Goose's darker nursery.
