あらすじ
An African-American musical version of Sophocles's tragedy, Oedipus at Colonus, created by theatre director Lee Breuer and composer Bob Telson. Inspired by the faith at the heart of African-American Christianity, Breuer and Telson transform Sophocles' meditation on mortality into a rousing service in a Black church. The show premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Next Wave Festival in 1983, and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It had a brief run on Broadway in 1988. 'I've been in a lotta shows in my life, and I've thought a lot of 'em were pretty good, but this is a masterpiece' Morgan Freeman
