In this book, author-photographer Mary Richardson Miller offers a moving portrait of twenty-seven citizens of the Guatemalan village of Candelaria. The beauty of the Guatemalan highlands belies the harsh existence of those who live there. Amid the daily struggle to survive, the women of Candelaria--strong, deeply religious, and amazingly resilient--have emerged as the heart of their community.
