After her son is killed by a horse, Nora Mahler of Missouri has a breakdown. At that, her husband sends her to hospital for electric shocks and tries to sell her horse farm. When Nora objects he becomes abusive, but fortunately there is Ozzie, a stablehand with whom Nora finds strength and love.
