A Western Fiction Adventure. This is Texas Ranger Bill Vents here. The year is 1888, and most of the West already has been won. Hidden here and there are remnants of the times past when life was a struggle on the frontier, and evil men preyed on others. The place is Mayweather in northern California, and an unusual bunch of men has assembled at the request of the town mayor. Mayor Rowdy Bates has called together four of his best friends to remember our lives as marshals, Texas Rangers, and even bounty hunters. Thus, begins seven days of campfire tales like nobody has ever heard. I take charge as the master storyteller, but the rivalry is passionate, and all five of us have our own stories to tell. And who is better to record all that is said for the archives of history than Harold Stampede, the famous dime novelist from the Boston Herald. You're welcome to join us by the campfire, but be prepared to have your hair stand on end as we reminisce about the rootin' tootin' Wild West as we saw and lived it. I must warn y'all, though. Our tales and lies ain't for the faint-hearted nor the squeamish. This is the West as raw as it gets.
