Most people have never questioned the wedding ring. They have worn it, admired it, saved it, judged others by it, and sometimes removed it but rarely have they asked where it came from or what authority it holds. In churches, the ring is treated as if it has always been there. As if Scripture quietly assumes it. As if marriage somehow feels incomplete without it. But when you open the Bible and read carefully, something startling becomes clear: the ring is never mentioned. Not once!
