Simon is a storyteller whose exceptional work in schools is established and greatly appreciated by both adults and young people. We have now found a way to bring the impact and excitement of his storytelling into every school. Simon tells the story (using a picture book video) of a young boy, Li, whose family breaks up. A torn family photograph represents the split and Li goes through a period of pain, anger and confusion. The silence in the family emerges as the main cause of the hurt. Eventually Lis grandfather rescues him by listening and encouraging him to talk to his parents. The animation and language both worked well for them. I liked the main messages: who are my family; find someone to talk to; you can be happy in a different kind of family.
