Julia, a psychologist by profession and upbringing, has her world inverted when Carmine contacts her after nearly a year with no communication. In midsummer a year on, Julia's moved on since Carmine stopped contacting her from Afghanistan. She couldn't wait for him, not after so long of hearing nothing. And so now, after so many months of silence, when he tells her he's returning, her new life is thrown into upheaval. She has been haunted by his memory ever since communication broke down.
