'Brothers,' for short, is a history of the Cuban revolution, told through the experiences of a family and its two sons. It is written like a novel while being rigorously historical. Among other things, 'Brothers' is an antidote to standard accounts which tend to reflect official viewpoints. In an advance comment, David Horowitz (author of Radical Son) calls it "riveting . . . intimate and revealing . . . an indispensable guide . . . " Cuban-American novelist Teresa Dovalpage says: "Even for Cubans . . . much of what happened is totally new. We have been given the sanitized version for so long."
