Tapalpa, a small village in Guadalajara, Mexico, is a quiet town famous for its mountains, cobbled streets, white-fronted houses, and red-roofed tiles. There lived a young man of humble beginnings, the third of four brothers. They all worked daily in the fields from dawn to dusk, but there was never enough money. One day, the young man was talking with a friend and after hearing his thoughts, hopes, and goals, the friend said, "You should go to America! The land of opportunity." And so he did. He worked hard, and eventually he was able to open his own restaurant. Business boomed! After years working long nights and early mornings, one restaurant turned into two. Two became three, and three expanded to several throughout New York City. The man became very wealthy and successful. But as the years went by he felt something important was missing from his life. Love and family. He realized life without love has no real success. So he decided to return home to Mexico to visit his cherished brothers, looking forward to basking in their unconditional love. But his reception was not what he expected, and things didn't turn out exactly as he'd planned. Based on a true story, this humble and compassionate bilingual (English-Spanish) tale carries a valuable message.--from publisher's description.
