*About The Subject* LINDA RONSTADT was born in the Southwestern town of Tucson, Arizona in the year 1946. She grew up absorbing a wide array of diverse musical styles that included Jazz, Country & Western, Latin, Opera, and early Rock & Roll - all of which the singer would incorporate into her personal trademark. Leaving the University of Arizona behind for the lure of Hollywood, Linda arrived in California in 1964 where she formed The Stone Poneys - a Folk Rock band who recorded three albums for Capitol Records as well as the innovatory psychedelic Sixties classic 'Different Drum'. After the dissolution of The Poneys, Ronstadt formed a backing band that became The Eagles. Establishing herself as the most successful female recording artist of the 1970s, Linda continually expanded her talents for decades to come, resurrecting the Jazz standards and scoring the biggest-selling non-English language album ever with *Canciones De Mi Padre*. In 2014, she was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. As of 2017, LINDA RONSTADT has sold upwards of 100 million albums throughout the world and has received a total of 13 Grammy Awards that include two Lifetime Achievement trophies - something no other musician has ever accomplished. Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in late 2012, Ronstadt now tours America and Canada as a spokesperson for the malady. *About The New Paperback Edition* LINDA RONSTADT - ROCK'S FIRST FEMALE SUPER STAR was first published in hardcover in 2014. This new paperback edition has additional and revised text. It is also updated to the present time and contains mostly new photographs.
