This book was published in connection with an exhibition at Sullivan Goss - An American Gallery in August of 2012 entitled LEON DABO: Toutes Les Fleurs. Newly available scholarship solved such prosaic mysteries as the year of the artist's birth but it also revealed one of the artist's secret long-held passions - the creation of vividly colored, beautifully abstracted floral pastels - two dozen of which are published in color for the first time in this book. Additioinal pastels by the artist are provided for context. Dabo's reputation has historically rested in his Tonalist images of the Hudson and his various roles as organizer of the famous Armory exhibition of 1913 and co-rabble rouser with the Eight. This body of work will expand and enlarge the appraisal of Leon Dabo forever after.
