デイヴィッド・サンボーン はジャズ・フュージョン界で活動したサックス奏者で、スムーズ・ジャズに大きく影響した。ユニークで渋みのあるファンキーな演奏が特徴で、歌うように奏でる音色は「泣きのサンボーン」とも称される。
