Overview
北海道で暮らす13歳の高橋漣(菅田将暉)と園田葵(小松菜奈)は、互いに初めての恋に落ちるが、ある日突然葵の行方がわからなくなる。彼女が養父の虐待から逃れるために町を出たことを知った漣は、夢中で葵を捜し出し駆け落ちしようとする。だがすぐに警察に保護され、葵は母親と一緒に北海道から出て行ってしまう。それから8年、漣は地元のチーズ工房に勤務していた。

Threads is a romantic drama inspired by the emotional song Ito by Miyuki Nakajima, exploring the theme of destined love separated by life’s twists. The film uses a non-linear timeline effectively and develops its main characters well, although the narrative focus becomes uneven—especially during Ren’s arc, which feels rushed and overcrowded. Despite some pacing issues, the heartfelt performances by Nana Komatsu and Masaki Suda make this film a touching watch worth experiencing.
