Overview
10人兄妹の末娘として生まれたミシェル・ペインは生後間もなく母を亡くすが、残された家族と助け合いながら育つ。ペイン家は調教師の父(サム・ニール)、そして兄妹のほとんどが騎手という競馬一家で、ミシェルも思春期を迎えるころには騎手を目指すように。やがてデビューを飾るミシェル(テリーサ・パーマー)だったが、落馬によって騎手生命にも関わる大けがを負ってしまう。

Despite its negative aspects, the third act of the film is highly inspirational and did make me a little teary-eyed. It’s almost impossible not to - seeing this woman survive a major injury and then triumph to become the first woman to win at the Melbourne Cup is extremely exciting and emotional. The downside to the film is the script; the first two acts unfortunately lack character.
