Imagine waking up in your own bed and suddenly you cannot see. Imagine how terrified you might feel in these safe and familiar surroundings and then imagine that you are not snug but outside. Your ears and your touch are telling you that you are in woodland. You can hear animals moving, branches creaking and you have no idea how you got there, where you are or how you get to safety? That's the claustrophic effect that I felt worked quite well for a while in this creatively designed animation. His world is entirely monochrome save for brief moments of colour when he touches something, and then only for so long as touches it. Is he really in any danger as his audio senses go into overdrive? Is he being pursued by menacing creatures or is it just a mouse, or a robin? For the first five minutes that scenario is delivered quite scarily but then another voice takes over, a dog, more people and the prospect of rescue and though that is still presented with some jeopardy, it - for me, at any rate, rather burst the bubble of apprehension we had steadily and effectively built up. I did like the style of the artwork: the use of lines of varying thicknesses to all but imprison the man, and there is something to be said for the audio mixing too. Give it a go.
