A young Indian princess has a dream in which she is flying over the forest listening to an haunting song from a beautiful golden deer. When she awakens, she is convinced it must have been real so asks her kingly father to help her find it. He offers a great prize to anyone who can discover it's whereabouts and when a young lad passes the proclamation on his elephant, he fancies his chances. Firstly, though, he stops by his sagely grandfather for some help. The old man tells him to pass seven mountains and then seek out a Linden tree by a glistening lake. Perhaps it lives there? The boy sets off, and sure enough he finds this enchanting epitome of kindness and purity. He sets a trap, but does he really want to capture this heavenly creature? If anyone recalls watching 'Mr. Benn' animations as children, then you'll be familiar with the style of cut-out and coloured animation that features here and when coupled with the melody (ok, so that is a little repetitious) this turns into one of those mysytically fantastic tales that combines a simple but poignant story with an equally straightfoward message about wisdom and kindness. This is certainly worth ten minutes, I'd say.
