While it begins with the visceral energy of a promising survival horror flick, the movie quickly dissolves into a disjointed series of scenes marred by erratic editing, unmotivated character conflicts, and a screenplay that fails to breathe life into its central themes of hope, trauma, and resilience. Despite Olivia Holt's earnest efforts to ground the story, the lack of a cohesive structural logic makes it impossible to connect with the protagonist's journey from despair to survival. Ultimately, it's a missed opportunity to explore the human psyche against a bleak backdrop."
This works, sort of This is not a great movie, but it builds tension, stays in mostly a single location without feeling cheap, introduces scares and develops characters along the way. The casting is solid, and the direction is good. It is by no means extraordinary, but it has zombies, the zombies are scary, the protagonists are human and act pretty much like humans would, and while this might be forgettable, it is certainly not bad.
