Overview
1945年、敗戦して間もないドイツ。ナチスの幹部だった両親が去り、14歳の少女ローレは、妹と弟と共に南ドイツから900キロ離れたハンブルクの祖母の家へ向かうことに。途中、貼り出されたホロコーストの写真を見たローレは困惑する。翌日、連合軍兵士に呼び止められたローレはユダヤ人青年のトーマスに助けられる。

Unwatchable. Either the cinematography or the post production is to blame. Either way, the Blu-ray is a mixed chaos of random gammas. Night shots are 50% gray one shot, pitch black the next. Day shots overblown, but reduced to 75% brightness, and also squashed at blacks that are then elevated into grays to add insult to injury. For a perfect trifecta, it's all marred by a heavy blue tint that makes everything look even more ghastly. Perhaps a new mastering will be done, at which point I may give it another try, but as it stands, it's unwatchable. Eye cancer.
