I wish I had seen this thirty years ago! That's how old "Francesco" (Andrea Pisani) is when he discovers that if you break the birthday cake candle after you blow it out, then your wish has to come true. One proviso: the wish cannot cheat death. That isn't something he has to worry about, though, as he hangs about with his childhood friends wondering how to spend their day whilst having an unrequited longing for the beautiful "Aurora" (Marilù Pipitone). This could be his chance to seize the day - and so we whizz through the next fifteen years of his happy life until a tragedy looms and then in true "Bobby Ewing" tradition, he arrives back at his 27th birthday again - only now he can be wise after the event. He realises that it is time to make the most of the time he has rather than moan about the time he hasn't. Carpe Diem! This is quite a standard drama with a story that follows some fairly traditional social threads, but what helps it stand out is the inclusion of some quite apposite quotes that remind us to live for the moment. Not in a short term, cavalier fashion - just ask his pal "Piero" (Piero Madaro), but by carefully considering what options you might have and not being afraid to follow your heart.
