世界大戦後の廃墟で生き延びていた女性兵士デュナンは、人類への奉仕者として肉体・感情を制御されたクローン人間バイオロイドの管理する理想都市オリュンポスに連行され、そこで全身サイボーグ化していた恋人ブリアレオスと再会する。彼の所属する元老院ESWATの一員となったデュナンは、やがてバイオロイドの開発とオリュンポス計画に自分の両親が関わっていた事実を知り、自身もバイオロイドの軛を解き放つ鍵「アップルシード」をめぐる陰謀に巻き込まれていく。

Crappy stereotypical story, bad and cheesy dialogues and an animation that shows some quality when representing non living characters: people have not facial expression whatsoever.
