In Ynex, the capital of Mindûhr, a newcomer is making waves in the underworld. His reputation as an assassin spreads from the One-Eyed Dragon inn to The Tower tavern, whispered in every shadowed corner. Trained, they say, by the dreaded masters of Ar'Danach, he is a master of every form of combat – capable of bringing down any foe. More than a hundred contracts bear his mark, whether the target be man, woman, or child. Even the kingpins of the Eel district dare speak his name only in hushed tones: the Executioner of Eldr Hâag. In this trade, enemies are plentiful, and friendship is a myth no one believes in anymore. Though the capital promises riches beyond imagining, envy breeds in the dark – and the past has a way of catching even the most feared of assassins.
